We are working on coordinating all of our med lists and supplies between countries. We are looking for any kind of shelves for the warehouse. Packing is tough . We have great volunteers but we want to make it more efficient. So if you have a shelf and live close to Ipswich give us a call. 978-417-9250.
Last Saturday some of the employees and people from the village organized a surprise going-away party for Tali.
The after school program for kids in the sponsorship program is going well. The kids love coming in to do their homework in the afternoon. The problem is getting them to leave once they have finished. Here is Sebastian and Gustavo:

On Sunday, we went to a program for the talented youth at Showty’s church. Shorty and Zach performed 2 songs together, Zach on guitar and Showty singing. The crowd went wild.
Dr. Neeli has been working hard getting a visa for the girl with the stomach tumor so she can go to the US for surgery. She also has been seeing many patients in the clinic.
Zach continues to work hard helping out in the emergency room, as well as helping out with our database.
Sandra continues to recieve intensive Creole lessons from Showty. She also continues working with the recycling program.

Yesterday Dr. Neeli and Samuel led our second high blood pressure clinic here in Haiti, and it went pretty well.
Sandra is here busy working on the recycling program and learning creole. She is doing a great job so far.
The sponsored kids continue to come into our office to fill out letters for their sponsors.
Yesterday a little baby girl named Love Carline was brought to our clinic. She was extremely malnourished. You could see all her bones. Her skin was floppy. I have never seen a baby so malnourished. She is 11 months old, abandoned by her mom. If you know anyone who wants to sponsor a child, she is in desperate need.

Vanessa is doing well with the English students and they are getting more and more comfortable every day with their speaking. They especially like listening to songs in English and following along with the lyrics and filling in the blanks.
Today I got a mini-lesson from Tali about ulcers. Apparently when they get red and super gross looking that is actually good because that means it is healing. Who knew?
We've got a lot more kids waiting for sponsors and some of their stories just break my heart.
The after school program for kids in the sponsorship program is going well. I spent some quality time with a little 10 year old girl today while she finished her homework. If she doesn't do it at the clinic she won't be able to do it at home because she gets distracted so easily and it is so difficult to concentrate with siblings running around along with random dogs and chickens coming in and out of her one-room house. She seemed to like it when I did it with her - she had to copy a page out of her book twice, I had to do it seven times. All in a day's work. Good thing I love this kind of work.

Interesting and very good two days. Went to Connecticut last night to fundraiser, then on to NewJersey to visit friends and pick up supplies from the VBS at their church. Then to New York to meet with the ED of very innovative organization who may partner with us. Then went on a mini tour of Time Square and WTC. The WTC was sad even after ten years.
Finally home. I found I prefer flying at least you can do something else, driving requires all attention!!

Today was a great day for us here in Haiti. We went to Canaan to do well child check ups for some of the kids in the sponsorship program there. It was my first time going back to Canaan since I returned to Haiti. It was so wonderful to see all the children! They are doing so well.
After, we went to the Foyer De Sion Orphanage, where Sarah’s adopted daughter came from. She says the following about her experience:
“The caregivers at my daughter’s orphanage invested all the love and hugs and kisses and giggles in one year of her life. Now I reap the benefits of their labor every day. Words cannot describe what it felt like to see their faces and say ‘Thank you.’
“I hope that I am of service in some way to PID. I try to do good work in the clinic and with the beautiful children in the sponsorship program. But, again, I am the one who is reaping the benefits of their labor. ‘Thank you’ is not enough for Foyer De Sion Orphanage, nor is it enough for PID. For now I have no better words to express my humble gratitude. Thank you!”

Tomorrow morning we will be showing a movie for the English students - maybe Star Wars or Chronicles of Narnia.

Here at the clinic in Haiti, Sarah continues to see many patients. In the child sponsorship office, sponsored children have been coming in and filling out letters for their sponsors.
Mr. Genois introduced me to a set of twins today, Akim and Akish. They are two out of twelve children in their family. Both of their parents are dead. “The situation is so bad,” Mr. Genois told me. “They really need a sponsor.”

Today the country is celebrating it's 190 anniversary of independence. I don't know exactly how it is celebrated here in Guatemala, but I'll let you know if anything super exciting happens.
Speaking of super exciting things - Vanessa arrived yesterday afternoon! The English students are anxious to meet their new maestra tomorrow morning.

Sarah the physician’s assistant has been working very hard in the clinic here in Haiti this week. On Saturday, she did well child checkups for some of the children in the sponsorship program. They went very well and we will continue next Saturday.
Yesterday, a paramedic from Missionaries of Charity came and spent the day with us, helping out in the emergency room and laboratory. It was great to have him here, and we hope he comes back soon.
I have been working with the child sponsorship and small business programs. I am loving my time here, working with such wonderful people.

Gale left Haiti today, leaving me with a lot of information, responsibilities, and tasks to keep me busy. I am very excited about everything I will be doing.
Today was the dentists last day. They worked so hard pulling lots of teeth for the past 3 days. The staff here at the clinic were so grateful for their work, they all came in to the dentists room as they were cleaning up to say a big thank you to them. Lots of hugs were exchanged.

So today we brought back the 7 year old boy with the awful rash and his grandmother. One of the dental assistants gave a donation for them!!
We have decided we will start the kick off of our trash for health. Anyone think
of a good slogan ? We will have all people coming to the clinic bring 20 plastic bottles for recycling. This way we will clean up Haiti and promote good health NP

I did it!
In other news with Marcelin back in the states Tali is busy running around doing lots of random errands and I am left at the clinic to fend for myself. I'm learning each day and gaining confidence. Although I sometimes have to ask Tali questions about days off for employees and what to do with giant ulcers. But little by little I'll get there.
Alejandra has been working hard to find new kids for the sponsorship program and get all the paperwork processed. So if you feel led to sponsor a child check out the PID website! They are all awesome kids and are in great need of a sponsor. Thanks!

The physician’s assistant arrived safely in Haiti today. She will begin work in the clinic tomorrow.
Mike, who left last week, did a great job helping our recycling program really take off. The neighborhood kids are all excited, every day they come hoping to work for us. Today they collected 2 bags of bottles each and brought them to us. We made macaroni and cheese for them in return for their hard work and they loved it.

Today a seven year old boy named
Judson came into the clinic. He had a terrible rash all over his legs. I have never seen a rash so bad. He can in with our lab tech. Dr Sem was also horrified and asked where his mother was. But Judson ‘s parents both died and his little old grandmother came in. She had the rash too. She is taking care of him but can hardly take care of herself. He was treated and sent to mr Genois . If you know anyone who wants to sponsor a child now, this child is in desperate need.
