Medical team hard at work in Haiti

This week a medical team from Massachusetts is in Haiti, already hard at work. Yesterday 7 members of the team held a mobile clinic in Zoranje, a community near Canaan. Although the Zoranje community is comprised of houses built by several different governmental regimes, having stable housing is only part of the solution for the Haitians who live there. Because the community is slightly isolated, they don't have readily available access to medical care. The pastor of the church was very grateful for the team's medical care of 64 patients. The team held another mobile clinic in Barye Fè today. Those that did not go to the mobile clinics were hard at work seeing regular patients and wound care patients here at PID's clinic. The team is also accompanied by a non- medical staff person  who is being put to work bagging meds, packaging care package supplies, and other various tasks! There is an occupational therapist here who has been helping those folks with past injuries or handicaps, as well as some elderly patients.

Overall, it's been a great start to the week and we are looking forward to the rest of it.
