Parades of San Antonio

As I mentioned in my last post, this week is Guatemalan Independence Day and as part of the celebrations the school children parade through town. Some are dressed in uniforms and others in traditional Mayan outfits. The best students in each grade proudly wear their sashes and carry the flags. Some schools have a marching band and others do dance routines. My favorite part of the parade is seeing the kids' faces light up when they see me or the others that work in the clinic.
