Today team #2 went and worked in the village. 8 nursing students along with their advisor did well child checks. Some worked oit back with the children's program and the rest went to construction.
A special moment of the day was when team member Rachel got to see her sponsored child Maria. Here are some of her thoughts:
The first day we arrived in the village Maria was waiting in the clinic and recognized me as soon as I stepped into the clinic. When she and her mother came back today, I was overjoyed. After giving lots of hugs and small things I brought from home, I was given a whole bag of oranges from a tree near their house. I have never felt such appreciation and gratitude in all my travels. Today will be a day that will always stay close to my heart.
