Help support Evelyn, one of PID's interns in Haiti, raise awareness and support for hunger in Haiti:
My name is Evelyn and I have been interning at Partners In Development-Haiti for the past seven weeks. I have seen more poverty than I have ever seen in my life. Seeing moms with
malnourished babies awaiting formula and medical supplements, children
begging me for a cup of water, and visiting homes with dirt floors and
no functional latrines has changed my perception of poverty.
An American on one of the service trips
visiting Haiti made the observation, “As United States citizens we
never truly understand what it is like to live here. We always have a
return flight back home, there’s always an end to our experience with
poverty, while most Haitians this is all they know.”
I have my return flight booked, but I want one more experience to try to relate to the hardship of poverty—to experience hunger for 30 hours. The purpose of this fast isn’t just the experience but to alleviate hunger.
Sponsor me in my “30 Hour Fast For
Haiti” and the money collected will be used to purchase chickens for the
poorest members of the community that Partners In Development serves.
My fast will be Monday, August 10th at 7:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday August 11th.
Thank you for your support in bringing food to the hungry of Haiti!
