Yesterday afternoon the electricity went out while the team was finishing up their last patients. There was a heavy rainstorm and it was even hailing! (See picture below) Such an odd occurance on a 90° day. Unfortunately the storm also brought in winds that knocked down a tree in village which took down some electrical wires with it. So we got ti the clinic this morning and had no electricity or running water. The team was so great and didn't even miss a beat, just started working and doing what they could with limited resources.
As we were enjoying lunch today it started to rain again, and the electricity came back on! Everyone was very excited.
Mike and his son Theo have been working hard at the house in Desierto. They have been plastering the walls and will hopefully pour the cement floor on Friday.
