The Gordon team continues to work hard on the foundation for the house in Blanchard. Dan, the student leader from the Gordon team, who interned for PID last summer, has done very well reconnecting with the small business program and with old friends. Hannah, their other student leader, delivered a gift package to Gordon college’s sponsored child that the team met on their first trip with PID. Paul, a Gordon faculty leader, went out with John this morning to buy wood to begin a roof for the open section in the middle of the clinic. By this time, a good portion of the framework is already up and it looks great.

Alison and the medical team continue to see patients. One patient in particular gives an example of one thing that makes medical team trips to Haiti so rewarding: after receiving medical care from Alison, one woman could not contain her gratitude and sought her out to tell her, via translation from Showty, how Alison’s medical care had made her feel completely better, and that she had “made her day”.

For this evening’s team meeting, Madame Pavelus came and told the recent history of Haiti from her perspective to the group. As she said, it is a “difficult” one, but one very much worth hearing.
