Yesterday, Octave Torchon, the previous field director in Haiti for 20 years died from complications of his diabetes. He worked tirelessly to set up PID in the initial years. He continued to
Advocate for the poorest of the poor in Haiti until he was forced into early retirement because of his Diabetes. Diabetes is a huge medical problem in Haiti. The clinic in Haiti is working hard on our diabetic program. As of today we will dedicate PID’s diabetic program to the memory of Octave Torchon.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
