The team in Haiti had their first day of work today. They did a great job and saw patients very quickly. After work, Sandra took them for a walking tour of the PID houses in the Blanchard area.

I spent most of my day in the hospital again with the two patients getting surgery. The little girl in our program’s hernia surgery went smoothly and she is doing well. She was released today.

For the girl with the tumor in her abdomen, the doctor also found cancer in her uterus. He recommended an immediate histerectomy while they were removing the rest of the tumor. When the girl’s mother heard she wouldn’t be able to have children, she was very upset. The nurse kindly told her to step out of the room until she was done crying. The girl took the news very well and agreed to the surgery immediately. Her mom also consented, and Mr. Genois led a prayer for her before she went in for surgery.
