The University of Upper Iowa has arrived safely with the rest of the team. Gena and I worked all day to get everything ready. We have one bath house ready, but by the time anyone was ready to use it, it was pouring so hard we couldn’t.
Today the clinic was mobbed. Merlin has offered to come to help on Thursday. A car drove up today and a staff person ran to get me, they said it was the national lab. But it was food for the poor. Thinking maybe they had come to offer food, I ran over. But when the staff person stepped out, she asked, “Please can you help me, my brother is so sick.”
Once again, I feel like I am in the twilight zone. The PID clinic can’t possibly be the best place to go in PAP… and, as much as I am proud of our clinic here, it is a sad statement about the health care in Haiti.
